NNMC to Resume Certain Elective Surgeries
Northern Nevada Medical Center (NNMC) is preparing to resume certain elective surgeries after Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced surgeries may resume Monday, May 4, 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, NNMC has continued to provide emergency surgeries. This will now expand to include more procedures, including low-risk cancer, hip, knee and spine surgery.
Helen Lidholm, CEO and Managing Director of NNMC, says while the hospital is ready to meet the surgical needs of patients, she recognizes some individuals may have concerns about coming to the hospital while COVID-19 cases are still being reported in the county.
“I want to assure the public we are doing everything we can to ensure the health and safety of patients and staff during this challenging time,” Lidholm said. “Our top priority is to ensure that we are providing a safe, quality experience for patients where they can feel protected during their hospitalization.”
