When it opens, it will offer adult and senior behavioral health services to patients residing in the greater Truckee Meadows area and beyond. Our newly expanded program will provide safe, quality healthcare to patients struggling with mental health conditions. The 48-bed department will serve adult psychiatric and mental health patients in an acute inpatient setting.

The skilled team of physicians, hospitalists, APRN’s, nurses, CNAs and licensed social workers at Northwest Specialty Hospital will be dedicated to personalizing treatment plans for each patient. We will support our patients by developing a plan that meets their care needs, sets realistic goals and helps improve their quality of life.

Your Treatment Plan

Our program involves a multidisciplinary approach to help ensure patients receive around-the-clock mental health care in an inpatient setting. Upon 24 hours of admission, patients will receive:

  • History and physical evaluation by a physician
  • Psychiatric evaluation by a psychiatrist
  • 24-hour nursing care in a compassionate environment
  • Medication management
  • Psychosocial assessment
  • Therapies evaluation for physical, speech and occupational rehabilitation

These assessments allow us to create an individualized treatment plan for each patient. Patients attend group, individual and family therapy depending on their care plan. Our environment, treatment and activities will be focused on bringing patients to the best possible level of functioning and well-being.
