Robotic General Surgery
Surgeons at Northern Nevada Medical Center perform a number of general surgery procedures using the daVinci® Surgical System. This minimally invasive technique can help reduce pain and trauma to the body, lessen blood loss, lower risk of infection, shorten the length of hospital stays and promote quicker recoveries with less scarring. Though the da Vinci surgical system is “robotic,” your surgeon is in control.
General surgery procedures that can be performed using robot-assisted surgery include:
- Cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal)
- Colon resection
- Hiatal hernia repair
- Inguinal hernia repair
- Umbilical hernia repair
- Ventral hernia repair
